In addition to this weekend’s event the Historic Marietta Tour of Homes was offered last weekend and was a huge success, enjoyed by both homeowners and attendees. People came from as far away as New York and Delaware for the event. Groups and individual visitors experienced an enjoyable weekend. The event will be offered this weekend as well.

The many who attended last weekend were treated to the stories of the old houses and families that occupied them over more than a century. Visitors enjoyed seeing antique furnishings, art collections, and lush landscaped gardens. Homeowners were on site to share pictures of their houses through the years and to relate their experiences in preserving the history of their homes.  Steve Arnold, one of the homeowners said, “The day was very busy with friendly people who were interested in the history of the Hovey house. It was nice to share the story of our home with them.”

Another homeowner, Jane Crumrine, had a great time with people who were very interested in her home and were glad The Castle brought a Tour of Homes back to the Marietta area. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get a first hand glimpse into some of Marietta’s finest historic homes.
