The West Virginia Community Development Hub has announced the dates for its 2018 New Story gathering. The event will be held at the State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg, WV from Thursday, May 31 – Friday, June 1, 2018.
New Story is an annual event convened by The Hub to change the narrative in and about West Virginia. Registration is open for anyone interested in attending this event to learn about great things happening in West Virginia, from arts and culture to entrepreneurial activities.
Said Executive Director Stephanie Tyree, “West Virginians are ready to set their own course in telling the story of our state. We are so excited to once again bring innovators from around the state together for New Story.”
Since 2009, The Hub has worked in dozens of communities to coach community members through a process that helps them identify leaders and assets; develop plans and set goals; and connect with a wide network of resources to meet those goals. The Hub has been instrumental in helping to create initiatives that address community opportunities and challenges such as developing local food systems, enhancing community sustainability, securing funding for community facilities, restoring historic downtowns, and more.
