Marietta Main Street’s Downtown Mini Golf event returns for its third year on Saturday, June 22nd. This special one-day event features 18 unique putting greens created by local businesses and organizations throughout downtown Marietta from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“This family-friendly event has quickly become a community favorite, bringing out kids, parents, and grandparents alike to enjoy a fun, affordable day in our historic downtown,” shared Cristie Thomas, Interim Executive Director for Marietta Main Street.

Community members of all ages are invited to putt-putt their way around downtown this Saturday. Wristbands can be purchased for $5.00 from the Marietta Main Street tent on the Armory Lawn from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wrist bands are free for children 12 and under who are accompanied by an adult. (Tickets are only sold day of at the Armory.) All proceeds benefit Marietta Main Street, a charitable nonprofit dedicated to revitalization in Downtown Marietta.

“We really hope this event not only allows for families to have a ton of fun in our downtown, but to also learn more about our downtown small businesses, gain an appreciation for how walkable downtown is, and admire the beauty of our historic buildings and flowers, flags, etc.,” shared Thomas.

All golfers will receive a score card to be used as they go around to each hole and putt, shop, eat and enjoy the afternoon. A wristband is required to putt all 18 holes.

This year’s event is sponsored by Par-Mar Stores, who will be set up on the Armory Lawn from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. offering complimentary refreshments and snacks. “Par-Mar is based in Marietta and believes in supporting the community and Marietta Main Street’s efforts,” said owner Terri Caldwell.

Participating businesses include American Flags and Poles, Baker & Baker Jewelers, Marietta Adventure Company, Peoples Bank Theatre, The Workingman’s Store, Top Drawer Furniture & Design Studio, Wit & Whimzy, the Betsey Mills Club, and more.

“This is a fun event for people of all ages, and we are excited to have a putting green in Wit & Whimzy,” said owner Laura Pytlik, who has fun creating a uniquely-themed putting green each year.

The Washington County Public Library is participating this year with a putting green at the Armory Lawn, and will have the Bookmobile on site as well. “We are excited to participate for the first time this year,” said Sarah Arnold, WCPL Marketing & Community Relations Manager. “Our space-themed green is a great way to promote our Summer Reading Program!”
