As women I think we can all appreciate an effortless look that transitions from day to night during the busy work week. Sometimes there are last minute plans with friends or your significant other and time doesn’t always allow for a trip home to change clothes. Here are two different looks created by Courtney Smith and Jenna King that can easily be tweaked to fit your style.
For Jenna’s look we used a traditional black pencil skirt with a fun printed top underneath a teal blazer. We finished the professional look with tights and black pumps. Switching to the night time look we wanted to create an edgier look. We switched out the blazer and replaced it with a denim jacket and traded the pumps for a rad pair of black booties. This is a perfect look for drinks with friends or maybe even an impromptu concert.
Courtney’s look is even easier. Start out by picking out one of your favorite maxi dresses and wear a sweater over top of it. To give it a trendier twist we tied the black sweater in a knot and added a long necklace. Since Courtney is only 5’3 she likes to appear taller. Adding a pointy toed shoe and a long necklace can create the illusion of a leaner look as well. Courtney decided to ditch the necklace once the sweater came off since the neckline of her maxi dress was so low. This dress is a statement all on its own so it doesn’t need a lot of accessories. We simply added a colorful, dangly earring. Fun tip: If maxi dresses aren’t your thing, pick out your favorite dress and create the same look. Just add some tights for the cold weather!
