This fall, the Beverly Public Library is hosting a Fall Storybook Park at Dodge Park in Beverly, OH on Saturday, October 27th.  From 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the public is invited to join the library for a few hours of fall fun, featuring storybook readings, festive contests, food trucks and much more.

Activities for the day include a costume parade through Dodge Park starting at 1:00 p.m., a pie eating contest, pumpkin painting, a slime pit, and a photo booth. “We will be partnering with the Humane Society of the Mid-Ohio Valley, so dress up your pooches and let’s see them strut their stuff!” said Susan Chipps, Beverly Library Branch Manager. “Pooches that are small animal and kid-friendly, get along great with other dogs, who are up-to-date on shots and not in heat, are welcome to join.”

Guests will get into the Halloween spirit, with presentations by Hidden Marietta Tours and the Mid-Ohio Valley Players, themed crafts, and scary story telling.  The first 200 children will receive a Halloween bag full of fun things to do.

To add to the fun, there will be a Pokemon Go Meet and Greet and a Scavenger Hunt using Wallame. Four local food trucks will be on hand to provide sweet and savory treats, including Doughboyz Pizza, DunWright Smokin’ BBQ and Catering, Jamaican Snowballs, and Lisa’s Sweet Stop. “The Muskingum Valley Rehab will be handing out gift bags with crafts and five $1 tickets from the Friends of the Beverly Library, which can be used at the food trucks in the park from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,” said Chipps.

The Bookmobile will also be on site, where the public can sign up for a library card, browse a selection of materials available at the library, and learn more about the many online resources and programs offered by the Washington County Public Library system.

Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to call Susan Chipps, Manager of the Beverly Public Library, at 740-984-4060.
