This fall, the Barlow and Belpre Public Libraries are partnering to host a Fall Storybook Park Festival at Howe’s Grove Park in Belpre, OH on Saturday, October 13th. From noon until 4:00 p.m., the public is invited to join both libraries in celebrating the season with themed storybook readings, live music, and much more.
Activities for the day include Madcap Puppets Theatre presenting The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, cartoonist and entertainer J.D. Williamson’s show and caricature drawing, live music by Tom Roddey, Pampered Pets Petting Farm, readings, and a photo booth with fun props. “Any age can enjoy listening and watching the events,” said a Librarian at the Barlow Library.
Children of all ages will love making new furry friends with the animals from Pampered Pets Petting Farm, who will be bringing a number of their farm friends with them, including a miniature donkey, a llama, goats, and of course, kittens. In addition to the crafts and other hands-on activities, there will be carnival style games with prizes.
Refreshments will be available, but guests are encouraged to bring their own blanket or chairs for listening to the storybook readings and live performances. The event is free and open for all to attend.
The Bookmobile will also be on site, where the public can sign up for a library card, browse a selection of materials available at the library, and learn more about the many online resources and programs offered by the Washington County Public Library system.
Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to call Tam Wamer, Manager of the Belpre Public Library, at 740-423-8381.
