Want to know where you can watch Fireworks this Independence Day? Local celebrations start as early as this Saturday, June 29th. We compiled a short list of festivities featuring fireworks across the Mid-Ohio Valley:

Athens, OH:  Fireworks will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10 p.m. as part of the two-day Fabulous Fourth Celebration, and will be able to be seen all the way down East State Street. The Fabulous Fourth Celebration includes a car show, a 5k walk/run, a parade, and much more.

Beverly/Waterford, OH:  On Thursday, July 4th, the Beverly Lions Club is hosting the Antique Tractor & Engine Show behind Fort Frye High School starting at 9:00 a.m., featuring a kid’s tractor pull, the Vienna Sky Sharks, a tractor parade, and of course – fireworks! You can also watch Fireworks from the Beverly-Waterford Community Pool during the Fireworks Party, which will begin just after dark.

McConnelsville, OH:  The 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 6th, kicking things off with a community picnic on the grove from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. followed by a parade on Main. Live entertainment on the square starts at 7:00 p.m. and fireworks will follow after dusk.

Marietta, OH:  The Independence Day Celebration takes place at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 6th with Fireworks at 10 p.m. Festivities kick off at 11 a.m., with amusement rides, vendors, games, and tractor pulls throughout the day. You can also watch from the Valley Gem on the Fireworks Cruise! Marietta will also have a fireworks display on July 4th, thanks to Donatos. Fireworks will take place on the Ohio River Levee at dark.

Although it falls after the 4th, you can continue your celebrating with the Marietta Riverfront Roar, July 12th – 14th. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13th down on the levee.

Nelsonville, OH: The Thunder in the Valley Fireworks Spectacular is Thursday, July 4th at the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad Park. Fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m. Shuttles will be available from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. from the Railroad Depot to Hocking College. Beginning at 8:30 p.m., food will be available for sale or you can bring your own, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Newport, OH:  Fireworks will wrap up the Annual Fireman’s Festival on Saturday, June 29th. The Festival begins at 11 a.m. with the parade, followed by games and concessions at the Newport Volunteer Fire Department. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m., right after the National Anthem at 9:45 p.m. You can also check out the ‘Rats by the River II’ Car & Bike Show from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The Jug.

Parkersburg, WV:  Fireworks will be at City Park starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4th as part of the week-long celebration hosted by the American Legion Post 15. The celebration begins Tuesday, July 2nd and ends Saturday, July 6th and includes carnival rides open evenings throughout the week and all day Saturday. You can also grab tickets to board the Island Bell for the Ringing of the Bell ceremony on the 4th, from 2 – 4 p.m. The bell will be rung 13 times to commemorate the 13 original colonies.

Ripley, WV: July 4th festivities begin with Little Patriot Hour featuring Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman and the Batmobile on the Courthouse Lawn at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Opening Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. The rest of the day includes the Firecracker 2 mile race, the Grand Parade, and live music, with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.

Senecaville, OH:  Head to Seneca Lake Park for an Independence Day Celebration from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Beach, featuring live music. Fireworks will begin at Dusk. Gate entrance is $8.00 per vehicle for the entire day.

Woodsfield: Fireworks will take place at dusk, at the Monroe Memorial Park.
