This time of year can be difficult when shopping for new clothing. Many stores have their spring fashions out which are beautiful, however we live in the MOV and spring seems far off.  So how do we satisfy our retail therapy needs when the clearance racks are looking dismal for clothing you can wear now? Look for some of the spring fashions that can be mixed in with clothing you’re currently wearing. Take a look at these three hot trends from Peyton & Peppy Boutique based in Vienna, WV. I chose grays and whites because they are some of the best neutral colors to own.

Look 1:

I paired my own faux leather jacket with this cozy, lightweight gray high-low sweater to bring a cold weather vibe which makes it relevant right now. I love a moto jean and these are the perfect fit with a stretch waistband! I added some color by tossing on a multicolored tassel necklace.

The good news with this top is that it will look adorable with white denim too. Then switch these black side-buckle bootie for a strappy heel for when spring has finally sprung.

Look 2:

I think it’s safe to say us ladies love these type of graphic tees. You know, the ones that make us giggle and think to ourselves, “this is so me!” And if you’re on social media you’ve probably seen them paired similarly to me.

First and foremost, let’s talk denim jackets because they’re a staple piece that everyone should own. This wash is the perfect because it’s neither too light nor too dark! I like wearing it with a pair of black denim for contrast. I also like to tuck the front of my shirts in a lot of times because I have shorter legs and I feel it helps create the illusion that they are longer. And can we talk about how cute these booties are?! I love the grommet holes along the top edges.

Look 3:

Lastly, I wore my gray coat with this flowy, flutter-sleeved white top. I love how feminine this top is and how it looks with these distressed, frayed-edge denim. I used my nude, ruffle heels to show how you can wear white and nude together. I loved layering these necklaces together to tie in the other neutrals. The white beaded necklace was the perfect subtle addition because it has a marbleized look that shows hints of gray.

So remember, the most important thing to think about while shopping during this awkward transition, is how to use the proper outerwear and shoes to make it relevant right now.
