A newly-launched event during Marietta’s annual Rivers, Trails, and Ales Festival is the RTA Beer Fest. Back for its 2nd year, RTA Beer Fest will feature over 15 regional breweries, a variety of local food trucks, live music, activities for the kiddos, and much more.

The first year of RTA Beer Fest packed 300 locals and festival-goers into East Muskingum Park to taste 42 beers available from 12 regional breweries. This year, 500 ticket holders will have the opportunity to choose from over 50 beers available from 15 breweries; the growth is an indication of the level of excitement produced by those passionate about support small business, local brewers, and unique community-based events like this one.

In celebration of good beer and great fun, Clutch MOV has partnered with the Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival to spotlight the 2019 lineup of participating Beer Fest breweries.

Brewery: Double Edge Brewing Co.

Location: Lancaster, OH

Interviewer: Jeremy Stackpole, RTA Ales Director

Interviewee: Starr Jinkens, Double Edge Brewing Co.

When did Double Edge Brewing Co. open? Double Edge Brewing Co. opened on March 17th, 2018.

One thing that makes your website unique is its minimalist, utilitarian content which includes only upcoming events and food trucks, hours of operation, and a current tap list. Does your brewery have a story you would like to share or do you prefer to simply draw people in with events and let the beer speak for itself? Our story is all about Lancaster. From day one, we wanted to be Lancaster’s neighborhood brewery. We’re located in the heart of Lancaster’s beautiful and historic downtown. Our taproom is decorated with local art work, and we partner with local businesses as often as we can. We do our best to support and showcase this wonderful community

What was the inspiration for the name “Double Edge Brewing Co.?” The name Double Edge is in reference to our dual mission statement of providing fresh craft beer and supporting this community.

Which of your offerings are best sellers/customer favorites? Our best seller is Rustic Sunrise, a coffee-infused golden ale. We source our coffee from The Well, a wonderful local restaurant, who roasts it fresh weekly. We’re currently using an organic Peruvian coffee that’s spectacular. Beyond that, we try to have a pretty balanced menu consisting of a variety of styles.

What drives your interest in participating in the Rivers, Trails, and Ales Festival? With being road cyclists, mountain bikers and runners ourselves, we know how great the outdoor adventure community is and are excited to be able to have a chance to share our brews with them.  An intense ride, hike or paddling trip always deserves a well-earned beer or beverage of choice to relax and relive the adventure with friends and family.

Do you plan to participate in any other events of the weekend? Which ones? We would like to try to participate in a Sunday road bike ride or run if time allows us!

The 2nd annual RTA Beer Fest will take place on Saturday, August 10th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in East Muskingum Park on Front Street in downtown Marietta, OH. More information, including ticket sales, can be found by visiting www.rtafest.com.
