Normally sparsely populated by runners, walkers, and children playing, the Parkersburg City Park is alive with culture this weekend. Vendors, performers, and community members have gathered to host the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival this weekend.
The event started yesterday evening with a world-renowned Bollywood dance kicking off the performances. Today, festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy acts ranging from Madame Gigi’s Outrageous French Can Can Dancers (professional can can dancers) to The Burning Dawn (a fire-breathing tribe based in the MOV). Sunday’s line-up is just as impressive – a great Father’s Day outing.
The festival also features great food from local restaurants like Mango’s, Phillipines Best, and Star of India. The food trucks options are quite diverse, and feature something for everyone. Also, the fresh squeezed lemonade can’t be missed.
Vendors line the tents at the festival selling unique goods and handmade wares of all varieties. Local artisans are on hand willing to discuss their products with anyone who has questions. The variety of products is wide and unique to this festival including handmade pottery, crystals, and clothing.
For more information, the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural website is available with information about all parts of the festival. Head on down to the City Park this weekend to enjoy some great food, wonderful performances, and unique vendors. The event is free to the community.
