Marietta Main Street’s annual Downtown Celebration uplifts the heart of our community: downtown. Hosted at The Adelphia Music Hall on Thursday, February 15th, the day right after Valentine’s Day, our community will gather together and show love to small business owners, community leaders, and the designers of great new initiatives in our downtown.

“There is so much to celebrate in Marietta, and our focus at Main Street is to uplift the stories, faces, and places in downtown Marietta. I am most excited about our Main Street Awards, which allow us to honor those who make significant contributions to the quality of life in our town,” shares Cristie Thomas, Executive Director of Marietta Main Street.

Last year’s award winners included Laura Pytlik, owner of Wit & Whimzy, the lead staff of Peoples Bank Theatre, Perry & Associates, Sylvi Caporale, owner of American Flags & Poles, and Judy Phillips, local volunteer.

This year, Main Street saw an increase in nominations from the community in each category open for public input.

“Our Board of Directors has a difficult task this upcoming week. They will have to read over a dozen nominations in each category and vote for their top nominees. It’s such a heartwarming experience to read through the narratives our community offered in support of their nominees – every single one is deserving,” says Thomas.

Sarah Arnold, President of the Main Street Board of Directors, has been a great support in the Board’s vision for the Main Street version of an annual meeting.

“This is our opportunity to celebrate another year of milestones, achievements, and progress, both within our organization and within our Downtown community. We are eager to share our 2017 impact report and recognize outstanding members of our community who go above and beyond for the betterment of our downtown,” said Arnold.

The Main Street Downtown Celebration is on Thursday, February 15th at The Adelphia Music Hall on Second Street in downtown Marietta. Attendees can expect a cash bar with exclusive drink specials, a variety of hors d’oeuvres, and live music thanks to local band The Hopewell.

Ticket holders receive access to the event, including a cash bar, appetizers, live music, and the opportunity to celebrate our community together while supporting your favorite local nonprofit at the same time: Marietta Main Street!
