Last month, Ohio had its first ever all-Ohio instameet thanks to Micaela (@micaela_jene) and Caleb (@iamcalebslaton). Instagrammers from all over the state met at the trailhead of Hocking Hills in the morning and spent the whole day exploring a very icy, yet stunningly beautiful area. Hocking Hills was invaded by around 65 adventurous creatives that day. Instagrammers could be spotted all over the park creating images with cameras ranging from large, professional cameras to phone cameras.
Cliffs, ledges, and rocks were climbed. Attendees braved the elements and some climbed in or on ice formations or laid down on a sheet of ice for just the right shot.
There were even a couple photogenic smoke bombs for instagrammers to capture.
Many people hadn’t met before outside of instagram, so this instameet served as a wonderful way to bring people together and unite them in their passions- adventure, community, and photography. It’s still hard to believe how many wonderfully kind and creative people I was able to meet at this event!
Check out #hocking2015 on instagram to see over 400 photos from the event and #socalityohio for more general photos of instagrammers in this group. I hear there will be more Ohio instameets in the future to look forward to!
