I have lived in Washington County for all but five years of my life & never knew the history of rowing. I have driven past the MC rowing boathouse & seen them and the high school team out on the rivers millions of times. I’ve seen the rowing race day crowds, but have never watched a race. My niece graduated from Marietta High School this past May and was a member of the Tiger Navy. I never watched any of her races. She started at Marietta College this fall & will row for them. I plan to follow her & the team more closely this spring. Wish them luck.

I always enjoyed watching the rowers practicing or racing up here in the Adirondacks. Watching my son Bryan rowing for Marietta was a more difficult trek for us and we were not able to attend many races to our dismay. But I hold all rowers in high regard and thank him for introducing us to the sport.
