OutMOV (the sponsor with the bracelets you used as a header) and Parkersburg Pride are two different organizations. OutMOV had a lovely event on the 4th, whereas Parkersburg Pride is having theirs on the 11th. Wasn’t sure if you’d want to edit the picture!

Thank you Joe! The Actors Guild is also accepting donations to House to Home during the run of Elf, The Musical. This organization provides meals, showers, laundry service, and food pantry to homeless residents of the area. They need cleaning supplies for their facility, personal hygiene items for their showers and to give to clients, non-perishable food items, easy open ready to eat foods with pop tops or twist tops, and other easily transported food items.

A thoroughly loving and detailed portrait of the artist as a young woman. Bravissima, Leah, and Sarah, too, and Michelle’s sensitive and gorgeous photography tops the piece off. I am so impressed at the speed and beauty of this mural, and on crazy crinkly corrugated metal to boot. Wow. Hoping you get to slow down this winter, Leah, and do some painting for you! Oh my gosh this is just SUCH a wonderful piece, and it totally captures the fun and cameraderie of painting together. Is there another tunnel somewhere that needs our help? And will you come and sneak in a softshell turtle? Big love for this wonderful piece, and Michelle’s photos rock so hard!! Great article. Shows the students being creative but within guidelines and for a particular audience/customer.

School art is not exactly public art, but is close. Even with private art, one couldn’t just throw anything onto the wall; the customer’s desires must be met.

In Marietta, recent public art seems to be serving more the desires and whims of the artist rather than building upon the strengths and needs of the community. Sad.

Thank you for this wonderful article about Susan and the memorial walk that Scarlet put togethet. I first met Susan when she was 17 and I was 19. It was thrilling to watch her become even more of the person she always was, despite her life-long battles with fatigue and exhaustion. I hate that Scarlet has lost her Mother too early, but I’m gratified that she has her Mother as an inspiration to continue building her own life. Thanks to everyone who participated in the walk or has posted their condolences and support for Scarlet on-line and elsewhere.
